Do you need a storm shelter?

Zone III Florida is in one of the highest hurricane and tornado wind zones in the country. An interior room is not enough.

Extensive testing by Texas Tech University and other wind engineering research facilities has shown that the walls, ceilings, and doors commonly used in house construction cannot withstand the impact of missiles carried by extreme winds.

Shelters designed to meet the criteria in FEMA Booklet 320 and are expected to withstand the forces imposed on it by even the most extreme winds encountered in United States without failing.
